“The Smith family has always enjoyed the outdoors! Whilst raising our son Tom (32 years old) and daughter Chloe (26 years old) (… oh how time flies!!). Me and my husband Mike ensured the outdoors was a big part of their upbringing including getting togged up for lots of weekend reservoir walks, camping, playing out, building dens, hanging tree swings, getting really muddy and entertaining our two lively children with a bottomless tanks of energy.

Around 6 years ago after many years of hard work The Smith family were lucky enough to stumble across Cockley Woods. We fell in love instantly and knew it was the perfect place to continue to make memories with our children and to welcome our grandchildren to the great Yorkshire outdoors and nature. That being said, we are keen to welcome you and your mini’s to our little piece of heaven, Cockley Wood. A place where we have worked hard to create a safe space for children to be free, express themselves and explore nature all whilst learning (without sitting at a desk with pen and paper or an iPad!).

We are so excited to welcome you and your mini’s to come along to Cockley Woods to share our joy, make memories and take some time to be with nature.”

“For me there is no better feeling than when you come home from being in the fresh air, getting a bath and snuggling up by the fire.

I was lucky enough to have a childhood full of long days and late nights (in summer) and snow days (in winter) getting mucky, building dens, hanging tree swings, playing on my bike, walking the dogs, building igloo’s, sledging… (the list goes on) most importantly BEING OUTSIDE! Sharing our beautiful woodland with you guys is a no brainer to me, I have always been passionate about working with children. As well as being passionate about sharing Cockley Wood with your minis I am a very passionate paediatric nurse and love meeting, talking and helping children to reach their full potential and I believe being in the outdoors and being free is a big part of that.

When we sat at our kitchen table and decided to create Cockley Cabbage Creek I was instantly excited, I knew we as a family and our woods was the perfect combination to create a fun, adventurous environment for not only our children but yours too.”
